Because “Good things come to those who wait”
I have absolutely no idea why I’m writing this, but I guess it is pretty much about my new-found pleasure of linking my daily encounters with a well-known proverb.
My acquaintance with the phrase “Good things come to those who wait” came from an advertisement by Guinness, which is one awesome TV commercial.
So what really happened today was:
1. I need to go to Sunway University College. Was at the train station at Kepong Sentral, en route to Subang. Hundreds of commuters congregating. Had a bad feeling about it. A train arrived. People rushed into the train. I couldn’t get in. The doors closed. I watched the “sandwiches” go by. Was afraid of being late. One minute later, another train arrived. It was virtually empty. I went in and grabbed a seat. And felt darn good.
2. Arrived at Subang station. Need to get to Sunway. No buses. Only taxis. Taxis charged RM5. Was more agitated. Afraid of being late. For unknown reasons, decided to wait. 10 minutes later, bus arrived. Paid 80 sen for the bus, and grabbed a seat in the empty bus.
Because good things come to those who waited.
And now, for what it’s worth, a more professional manifestation of good things coming to those who waited, a la Darwinian evolution and Madison Avenue.
