I am an advocate of diplomatic problem solving. I believe it is important to please everyone and make sure everyone is happy in at the end of an argument, debate, or upon arriving at a decision/conclusion. However, there are a group of people who belonged to another category of what I called the “impossible people” category.

“Impossible people” do not talk with logic and reason. They do not debate with existing reasoning methods and often commit the ad hominem fallacy, which is sad and pitiful. Put it simply, they do not talk or make sense. For example, sometime between 11pm – 12am yesterday on Windows Live Messenger:

WorK FoR L|f3 says:
oi

WorK FoR L|f3 says:
damn u

Aaron says:
huh?

Aaron says:
why do you use the words “damn you”?

Aaron says:
it is not a polite form of expression, you know

WorK FoR L|f3 says:
cheh~~~ for u only

Aaron says:
oh, ok..

Aaron says:
so what do you want to know?

WorK FoR L|f3 says:
nothing…..juz come scold u only

Aaron says:
oh, ok

Aaron says:
are you done?

Aaron says:
coz’ I was thinking of sleeping early

WorK FoR L|f3 says:
bb

Aaron says:
well, I don’t know if it matters to you, but I am definitely not in the mood, nor I have the time, to engage in such games

Aaron says:
And for these replies I just wasted 10 minutes of my life

WorK FoR L|f3 says:
sry

WorK FoR L|f3 says:
bb

And with that, I learned something new. I figured the best way to deal with “impossible people” is to be indifferent, with a little bit of political incorrectness of similar or greater magnitude.

One Response to “Dealing with Impossible People”

  1. unnamed Says:

    Hurmmm~~

    Sounds so weird.
    Maybe he’s envious with you…

Trust me Aaron, no matter how polite, or nice, or angelic we have been to other people, there will always be some people who has some issue with us.

I guess what we should do is to stay nice. ^.^
